Splatfest World Premiere’ Arrives Tomorrow

(CTN News) – Splatoon mania is sweeping my household right now, I don’t know about yours. It’s not uncommon for us all to experience bouts of this diabolical, squid-based madness. But why did it suddenly appear? The reasons are three in particular.

Splatoon 3’s single-player mode,

Splatoon 3’s single-player mode, “Return of the Mammals,” was highlighted in Nintendo’s Treehouse team’s live video presentation yesterday.

Besides introducing new weapons and techniques (Squid Rolls, Squid Surges, Squid Spawns), as well as Smallfry, your adorable sidekick, the Treehouse trio revealed some juicy details about the much-anticipated new special weapons, like the Crab Tank, Ink Vac, and Zip Caster.

A dangerous environmental hazard can turn your squid kid fuzzy at the slightest touch, too. Also, I guess that’s pretty important.

You can still watch the entire presentation, including some bonus gameplay, on the official Nintendo YouTube channel if you missed it.

OLED Model Splatoon 3 Edition.

While you are reading this post, I (like so many others) am on the hunt for the elusive Nintendo Switch – OLED Model Splatoon 3 Edition.

Despite the lack of pre-order opportunities in North America, hordes of Splatoon devotees are trolling websites and retail stores looking for this elusive system.

This system features a custom console, two-toned Joy-Cons, and an ink-splattered dock. Hopefully, it won’t be the last special edition OLED Nintendo Switch model.

As a final note, tomorrow marks the world premiere of Splatoon 3; Splatfest. The only requirements for this 12-hour event are to download the special game demo from the Nintendo eShop and to have a Nintendo Switch Online account.

No worries if you’re not an NSO subscriber yet! You can try Nintendo Switch Online for seven days for free by downloading the demo.

Now that that’s taken care of, fire up the Splatfest demo between noon and midnight Eastern time to fight for your team’s glory: Rock, Paper, Scissors.

On the east coast, teams will play standard Turf War matches from 9 AM to 3 PM (12PM to 6PM).

From 3 PM-9 PM (6 PM-12 AM), Splatfest Tricolor Turf War battles will take place!

Splatoon 3 launches on September 9, so this four-vs-two-vs-two format will determine who rules the Splatlands… at least until then.

I look forward to seeing (and splatting) you all on Saturday, but until then, stay fresh!
