Quordle Answer 177: July 20, 2022 Word Solution

The Quordle 177 answer is now solved for July 20, 2022. All four words in today’s solution have an obstacle of some sort. Two of them have double consonants that are hard to figure out, another has two uncommon consonants, and the last can be tough to unscramble despite only having common letters. Out of the bunch, we would say that the first word, in the upper-left corner, is the most challenging because you can switch the third and fourth letters to form another word altogether. For a hint, it’s a noun that describes an instrument typically used in the military or at summer camps. This puzzle might require all nine guesses (as it did us), so if you need the entire solution, you will find it in the next section.

What is Quordle answer 177? (July 20, 2022)

Quordle Answer 177

The Quordle answer 177 is:

  • “BUGLE”
  • “ASHEN”
  • “TRAIT”
  • “AMISS”

As noted before, “BUGLE” can be rearranged into “BULGE” so it may take an extra guess to get right. The two “B” and “G” consonants can also make it hard to figure out the word when the other parts of the solution don’t share a single letter with “BUGLE” apart from the “E.”

Both “TRAIT” and “AMISS” have similar difficulties in that they have two common consonants that are tough to place. If you follow through with the general strategy of trying all of the common letters and vowels at the beginning, you’ll get the “T” in “TRAIT” and the “S” in “AMISS.” But guessing the extra “T” and “S” may not be your first instinct to try despite being correct. In addition, “AMISS” also has the uncommon “M” consonant that adds to the difficulty.

On the other hand, you should get all of the letters in “ASHEN” straight away. It might take you a while to figure out where each letter might be if you don’t get any of them highlighted in green, but it shouldn’t take an extra guess. Luckily, our familiarity with the Dark Souls series has helped with the word.
